Our trip to Rochester NY!

We went to Rochester for Labor Day weekend. We've been wanting to get there to meet Crazyolis for several months and just haven't been able to until now :-)
We spent the entire day Saturday, August 30th letterboxing with Crazyolis. They are a fun bunch. We found 11 boxes with them and had a picnic in the park where we found 5 boxes.

Here's Robin on one of the sculptures we saw while trying to find a box...unfortunately we didn't find the box, but these sculptures were really cool looking!

Saturday night we stayed at East Avenue Inn, that hotel was nice. Robin wanted to sleep in the bed, so we let him. The bed was way too big for him, but he didn't care LOL

When Robin got up in the morning, he wanted to watch TV, we told him to go ahead while the rest of us were showering.

Don't remember what he was watching, but he wanted to sit on top of the cooler to get a better view he said LOL

Robin comes to visit us!!

Robin is a Webkinz Treefrog, he belongs to jacks. We've been waiting for Robin to arrive. He arrived August 27th.

We did our exchanges and that night the kids wanted to go to Burger King for dinner...so we piled in the van to go to dinner & Robin insisted on coming along with us. We told him he had to stay in the van, but he didn't listen, he said he was hungry too. Although we tried to convince him that Burger King wouldn't have anything he would like, he still insisted, so we let him go in with us.

He wanted some of our food and well.....

as you can see, he helped us with our dinner :-)

When we left the restaurant, Robin wanted to sit on the dashboard of the van on the way home.

The sky was absolutely gorgeous!! Robin looked like he was mesmerized by it, doesn't he? Ok, so you can't really see him in the picture, but he's there LOL
We're heading to Rochester to meet Crazyolis and do some letterboxing with them...can't wait :-)

Another buddy came to visit!!

Nuts the Squirrel arrived July 28, 2008. His owner Lilac Butterfly was kind enough to let him come to NY to visit us for awhile. He met Flat Buddy and did all his letterboxing with him as well since they were both with us at the same time.

We found lots of boxes with both Flat Buddy and Nuts the Squirrel.

Here they are putting the Scott Couchman Memorial box back in its hiding spot!

Here they are stamping into a box into Rebel Boxer's Tribute to AQ's Best Boxes...there were lots of ducks around there :-)

They even got to be first finders with us at several new boxes in Sharon Springs, including the one that was planted behind the one room school house. We had to have a picture of them there!

Here they are inside the schoolhouse, it was pretty cool looking in there. We couldn't go all the way in, they had a 'window' blocking off the room, but was full length so you could see everything.

Out back was a 3 stall outhouse! That was really cool, never seen one that had 3 stalls to it. There's Flat Buddy & Nuts the Squirrel hanging onto the door knob, can you see them?

What a day!!

We took Flat Buddy out boxing today...we knew there was a chance of thunderstorms, but they were 'scattered' so we didn't worry about it :)

We found a few boxes, one place had 2 boxes and this was our third time trying to find them...they are 'mystery' boxes of sorts, the clue told us what town they were in, but we had to figure out where in that town, no wonder they had a hard time with them, but we found them today :)

We then went to finish a series we started a few months ago, Flat Buddy wasn't able to log that one because he didn't start at the beginning of the adventure...but we told him that we would be going back to that location though to meet the creators of the adventure and possibly the other boxers that followed the adventure.

We headed out for the last box of the day. When we pulled up to the location, it started pouring and in order to get to the box you had to go down a hill a little bit. Well, when the rain died down just a little 'dad' got out and retrieved the box for us all to stamp in....YAY!!!

Even though everything was all wet and there was a chance of it continuing to rain on and off, we headed to a little park of sorts to have a picnic, that was the original plan for the day, so we decided we'd stick with it. We got to the place soon after since it was only down the road.

The hamburgers were cooking, everything was looking good then just as the last 2 hamburgers were about ready to come off the grill it started raining, not much but as soon as we got them off the grill, boy did it rain. Cats and dogs would be an understatement, it was raining elephants as Butterfly Melody said. So we ended up eating in the van while it was raining elephants and thunder was rolling & lightening was lighting up the sky!

It stopped raining shortly before we finished eating, so we cleaned up the grill, packed everything up and headed back to meet up with other letterboxers.

We met up with CathCainGwen, Rebel Boxer and turtleandhorse, what a great bunch of boxers they were, they all loved Flat Buddy, but we didn't get a picture :( but that's ok, we had ice cream while we were there!!!!!

On our way home, we stopped to get another box in a cemetery, but found out from CathCainGwen afterwards that she removed it :(

Then we tried to stop AGAIN (we tried on our way out too) to stop at Beardslee Castle to get that stamp, but there were still quite a few people milling around from the craft show that was going on earlier...we told him that this place is haunted, hope we're able to go back to get the stamp before he has to head home.

Flat Buddy arrives!

Flat Buddy is just that, he's flat, not a stuffed animal. Blackberry Patch let him come visit us for a little while from Baton Rouge, LA.

We took him out to find his first box yesterday, it was a newly planted box and we were First Finders for it :) It was in the cemetery in our town and only a few blocks away from home, so we decided to stop for it on our way to a friend's house to go swimming.

Here's a picture of Flat Buddy at the headstone of the person the box was planted 'in honor' of - Bud Fowler...here's a link about Bud Fowler if interested...

Noodles on my back visits us!!

Noodles On My Back came to visit us in May 2008, he lives in Ohio with Bone Yard Recorder.

He was such a pleasure to have here. He came with his own tote back and everything, it was so cool :)

We were able to get out boxing a few times with Noodles and we were even First Finders for several boxes we found with him, he certainly enjoyed that :)

Gin-ey comes to visit

Gin-ey is LndCrzr's Boxing Buddy. He is definitely a unique buddy :) He came from Missouri in March 2008 to do some boxing with us.

Gin-ey ended up staying with us for an unusual length of time. He went to North Carolina with us during our Spring Break in April, he was happy to leave our 'cooler' temps in NY to get some sunshine and warmer temps.
